The Past & Present Scrapbooking Desk

The idea for the desk began as my attempt to organize gift-wrapping paper and gift bags and avoid searching the entire house trying to find scissors, tape and a bow every time I needed to wrap a gift. Several years and many designs later, the patent application was filed and the Past & present Scrapbooking Desk was born. In the process, more than just a piece of furniture was created; a philosophy emerged.

I noted that the "women's work" of card sending, scrapbooking, gift-wrapping, and memory keeping for the family was undervalued. Other organizers are meant to be hidden away in the closet or under the bed as if women should be embarrassed that we engage in these activities. In one survey, women revealed that they often wrap gifts and scrapbook on the floor!

The Past & Present Scrapbooking Desk provides a lovely, organized, functional place that honors these important activities that we do for our families and friends. Linda Salazar is a San Antonio native and proud army brat. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Political Science. She has worked as a corporate trainer and entrepreneur since 1996. Linda is the mother of two wonderful children, Nicolas and Olivia. They enjoy attending church, play dates with family and friends, and going to Sea World and the zoo.
